Quality Control
Hardness and case depth inspection after heat treatment: we confirm the part meets the values on the drawing before it is delivered.

Quality control service
Confirming that heat treatment gave the required result is as important as the treatment itself. Inspection after heat treatment shows whether the part meets the hardness and case depth values on the drawing, before it is delivered. Inspection is carried out within our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
What is inspected?
Inspection is based on the values required on the drawing and in the customer specification. The main points checked after heat treatment are:
- Surface hardness: in the required unit (HRC, HV or HB) and at the specified measuring points.
- Case depth: the depth of the hardened layer after surface hardening processes such as induction hardening, case hardening and nitriding.
- Hardened zone: that hardening is in the zone marked on the drawing and has the required width.
- Run-out and straightness: compliance with the allowed tolerance on straightened shafts and long parts.
- Visual inspection: no cracks, burns or damage on the surface.

Quality management system
Quality control is carried out in the same workshop as the heat treatment and within our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. You can find our quality policy and commitments on the Quality Management page.
